How Can YOU Reduce Stigma?
Reducing stigma in the world is as simple as learning what mental illnesses are and being aware of them in your community. Another way you can help is to make yourself an approachable person in your community for people with mental illness. Being aware of your attitude and behavior around people can help you to make yourself approachable for people’s problems. Educating others who are self centered and don’t choose their words carefully and shape their attitudes to be better can benefit other people that they meet.
What Is The Purpose Of This?
The purpose of this blog is to raise awareness to the fact that a lot of people are affected by stigma in this world. There are too many people affected by mental health and then on top of it, most of the affected have a stigma. We need to stop discriminating against these people and be nicer to the people we meet because we never know when we might meet someone with stigma and we can only make it worse for them. They might be considering opening up to someone but it only takes one remark to make the affected feel bad about themselves and isolate themselves. The main purpose of this blog is to raise awareness to the fact that we are not the only people in this world. A lot of people are more sensitive than us and we can easily hurt them without even knowing it.
